BOTTLE SAKE

Sake, Japan’s famous rice wine, is brewed using rice, yeast and spring water. A big misconception is that sake is always served hot—our premium and ultra-premium sakes are served slightly chilled, unless noted.

There are three levels of premium sake. Each level is related to how much the outer husk of the rice grain is polished away before brewing. The higher the percentage of polishing, the higher the grade of sake.

Honjozo/Junmai—30% of outer shell polished
Ginjo—40% of outer shell polished
Daiginjo—over 50% of outer shell polished
